A Word From the CEO & Founder Lucretia de Jong

Thank you for contributing to the Implementation and global scalability of our social procurement platform. Together we will optimise the way industry interacts with communities, educating new rules of behavior, delivering best practice tools and value systems. Transforming cultural or social bias and barriers, to deliver profound and positive societal outcomes.

The time is now — vulnerable communities are hurting. The rising cost of living, the pandemic, wars, and natural disasters have detrimentally impacted Indigenous, socially disadvantaged, and marginalised communities across the world. SOS's technology empowers communities through the governance of every social procurement transaction.

Responsibility for People and Planet

We all, as a member of our global society, have a responsibility to protect our people, communities, and environment. It is our purpose as a social enterprise to protect those who are most vulnerable, and in doing so, SOS has created pathways to empower global self-sustainability through a transformational platform that provides governance across every transaction, communication impact and outcome. Social and sustainable procurement is now being embedded globally in government contracts through policy and frameworks to create a lever to deliver social and environmental outcomes. Although this important policy lever exists, it has not been sufficiently monitored and enforced to audit progress or outcomes. Due to this, the ineffectual governance has created an adverse effect on vulnerable people, social benefit suppliers, and communities, those the policy set out to protect.

Private Enterprise Demand for ESG

As ESG reporting becomes mainstream, publicly listed companies and industry are now becoming aware of the need to include and evidence social and environmental procurement into supply chains in support of their global footprint while also contributing to a positive affect on share prices. Alternatively, insufficient evidence and implementation of social and sustainable procurement to meet policy and regulations in the delivery of ESG value, is now in turn impacting private companies with financial penalties or enforced court orders. These impacts will begin to drive an additional social sector demand for private companies to source and engage sustainable procurement through their 'business as usual' supply chains and the need to further build social sector capability.

Evidenced Outcomes & Impacts

SOS optimises social procurement possibilities to deliver social change in communities through government and industry data capture, intelligent search, reporting, auditing, identifying and predicting patterns, to understand and track both industry and social sector progress, impacts and outcomes. Evaluation and evidence is be delivered through impact dashboards, using real time through quantitative and qualitative data.

By simplifying the social procurement process, our platform provides government and projects with accurate oversight of their commercial and social return on investment, while supporting industry to make informed social and sustainable procurement decisions and finding efficiencies. Supporting sustainable social procurement conditions and pricing, builds social sector capability and capacity, expediting and removing the guess work, by providing evidenced, compliant and socially responsible options and spend reporting. Social inclusion and accountability of procurement funds, empowers communities to advocate for themselves and drive sustainable pathways, delivering endless global impact possibilities.

MARKETS

The Social Procurement Economy

The emergent social procurement market comprises two main categories:

  1. Government Mandated Social Procurement and
  2. Corporate ESG Social, Ethical and Sustainable Procurement.

The two markets are so expansive, we think of them each as economies.

SOS acknowledges the importance of contributing as a cultural ambassador for all Indigenous Communities

SOS acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land across Australia as an Australian business, we also acknowledge all indigenous communities around the globe and recognises their historical, present and future roles these communities play and their knowledge of eco systems and traditions that support the ongoing sustainability of our planet.
